Fr Andrew McKenzie is a priest of the Archdiocese of Glasgow, ordained in 1988.  He has been National Director of Priests for Scotland since the formation of the intiative in August 2004. He is also secretary to the National Liturgy Commission.

Preparing for New Translation of the Roman Missal

Royal Scots College, Salamanca from 9th – 16th May 2011


The course will aim to prepare us for celebrating liturgy with the new translation of the Roman Missal. Fr. Paul Turner will present the course.

Fr. Turner is a priest of the diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph USA, he holds
a doctorate in sacred theology from Sant' Anselmo in Rome.  His books include The Catechumenate Answer Book (Resource Publications, 2000), Your Child's Baptism (Liturgy Training Publications, 1999), The Hallelujah Highway: A History of the Catechumenate (Liturgy Training Publications, 2000), The Catholic Wedding Answer Book (Resource Publications, 2001), Let Us Pray: A Guide to the Rubrics of Sunday Mass (Liturgical Press, 2006), When Other Christians Become Catholic (Liturgical Press, 2007), and Celebrating Initiation: A Guide For Priests (World Library Publications, 2008). He is a former President of the North American Academy of Liturgy and a team member for the North American Forum on the Catechumenate.  He serves as a facilitator for the International Commission on English in the Liturgy ICEL.

Paul is a very popular teacher and speaker who in recent months has somewhat specialized in leading priests in discussion on the new Missal

Applications for this course should be completed and sent to the Priests for Scotland office by 14th February 2011. If you wish an application form please email office@pfs.org.uk. In view of the subject under discussion and its importance for priests and celebrating communities throughout Scotland it is anticipated that demand for this course may be high. Places on the course will be awarded on a first come first served basis.

The course will cost £650. This will be subject to the usual formula as follows 45% from the parish, 45% from the diocese and 10% from the priest. Participants should collect the appropriate funds before forwarding them to the Priests for Scotland office. Priests should send their contribution of £65 as a deposit when returning their application form.
