These notes will try to sift through some current trends of interpretation for the gospels which are presented in the Sunday liturgy. It will be a type of commentary, but only stretching for a month at a time. I will concentrate on contemporary readings of these passages which I think might provide some help in preaching primarily on gospel texts – because that is first and foremost what we are trying to do as priests.
