WELCOME TO PRIESTS FOR SCOTLAND

1Priests for Scotland is an initiative of the Bishops' Conference of Scotland which aims to address issues of significance to priests working in Scotland. Priests for Scotland is also concerned with the promotion of vocations to the priesthood in the dioceses of Scotland.

VOCATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD

To be a priest in Scotland today is “a life worth living”. The invitation to “make disciples of all the nations” is a command to each one of us.

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2008



Priests for Scotland
is happy to provide Vocations Packs to all young people going on World Youth Day. The pack consists of some prayer cards, a bandana in the form of a Scottish saltire, and an invitation to take time out to consider God' s plan and your call. For more information click here.



THE SEMINARY APPLICANTS' YEAR

If you have decided that you want to train as a diocesan priest for one of the dioceses of Scotland then you must take part in the Seminary Applicants' Year. This is a year long process of prayer and discernment that prepares applicants for entry into the seminary formation programme. For more details please contact your Diocesan Director of Priestly Vocations and consult this website.

VOCATIONS PROMOTION - MATERIALS

Materials will soon be available for schools, parishes and universities in preparation for Vocations Awareness Week 14- 21 September 2008. A pack will be prepared for Primary Schools and a separate pack prepared for Secondary Schools. Some material will also be sent to parishes and to universities. Should you wish to receive this material at your school please email the Priests for Scotland office and we will ensure that your school is on the mailing list.
